The spring sun is starting to slowly melt snow and ice here in Finland, you can feel the season changing. Higher up north, Arctic sea ice is reaching its peak of the year before it starts to reduce again. The ice coverage is below the average again.
Meanwhile on the other side of the globe, it is late summer now. This February Antarctica sea ice measured a record low minimum. Since the monitoring with satellite images begun in 1979, the sea ice extent has never been this low.
The seasons are not the only ones changing.
