
One of my professors at the university said that “Of course, the animals don’t just run off the cliff and disappear”, when she was explaining how species go extinct in some regions but move to others. But sometimes the species do “disappear”. This quote is from an old opinion piece by Bradley J. Cardinale published in The Scientist, but I think that it is still very relevant.
